More sketchwork from Iraq. The previous MK game's ending for Subby stated that he became an ice god, so that's where I'm coming from here.

Sub-zero

Sub-zero had become an ice god. The defeat of Blaze had unleashed a storm of energy spread about all the combatants. Paired with the Dragon Medallion and his ancestral armor, Sub-zero's strength had been amplified far beyond any mortals'. However, the Elder gods were enraged that he had achieved such status without their approval. It was beyond imagining.

With his world seemingly at peace, Sub-zero's attention turned once again to Outworld, to further investigate the ruins of his believed ancestral race. He entrusted his loyal friend, Kenshi, with the mantle of Grand Master in his absence. As an ice god, Sub-zero's new powers allowed him to traverse between realms relatively at will, leaving Earthrealm for Outworld and the adjacent Edenia. Because of his past support and valiant efforts in battle, Sub-zero found favor in the eyes of Queen Sindel and safe haven within her palace in Edenia to go about his travel and study. It was during his many visits that he gained the respect, friendship, and ultimately love of Sindel's Captain of the Guard, Jade.

During his journeys he encountered Sareena, a former ally to his late older brother. The Sub-zero siblings have long been at war with the rouge sorcerer, Quan Chi, Sareena's former master. Sareena found she had awakened ice powers similar to Sub-zero's upon Blaze's demise and had dealt the final blow to Quan Chi with them in final vindication. Weary of roaming and now seeking purpose, she thought it destiny to align with the younger sibling of her liberator. She pledged her allegiance to the Lin Kuei in honor of the elder Sub-zero and became a loyal companion. Together, they fended off numerous attacks against champions sent by the Elder gods.

Returning to his duties as Grand Master of the Lin Kuei on Earth, Sub-zero brought with him Jade as his queen, and Sareena as his bodyguard. He strengthened the Lin Kuei with the legacy of philosophy, science, magic, war and weapons he had discovered of his ancestors.

Not long after, the Lin Kuei were once again attacked by Noob Saibot, the elder Sub-zero's soul twisted into a being of shadow after his death, and his army of Netherworld assassins. With him also came the salvaged vessel of the younger brother's tragic best friend, Smoke, his unwillingly cybernetic body reprogrammed to serve Noob.

With Kenshi, Jade and Sareena's aid, Sub-zero managed to eradicate the Brotherhood of Shadow and subdue his elder brother and best friend. Using the combined resources, technology and magic of the Lin Kuei, Sub-zero managed to restore most of Smoke's mind and humanity. His brother was an uncertain case. His body was restored but they could not be sure of his soul. Nonetheless, Sub-zero was overjoyed to have his elder brother and friend at his side once again.

Now Sub-zero sits at his pinnacle. As an ice god and Grand Master of the Lin Kuei, with favor of the thunder god, Raiden, strong political and military favor and ties to Queen Sindel through his queen, revitalized friends, family, and allies, Sub-zero is a super power. He has never had so much, yet so much to lose. Those once close to him are the most dangerous by far. His former protege, Frost is alive and surely seeks his power again, and his brother cannot be entirely trusted yet. Nonetheless, he is ready for anything the Elder gods can send...
